Raul Seixas was a Brazilian rock pioneer from Salvador who became the "Father of Brazilian Rock" by blending rock with Brazilian rhythms, mysticism, and counterculture philosophy from 1968 until his death in 1989. His anthemic songs like "Metamorfose Ambulante" and "Gita" fused hard rock with esoteric themes and social commentary, while albums like "Krig-ha, Bandolo!" established him as Brazil's most influential rocker. Seixas evolved from psychedelic rock experiments to incorporating samba, baião, and northeastern Brazilian folk into his sound, creating a uniquely Brazilian rock identity.
