Load It, Cock It, Aim and Shoot
Load It, Cock It, Aim and Shoot

Living like we bulletproof
We bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang
I say we load it, cock it, aim and shoot
Oh we load it, cock it, aim and shoot

Some will die over oil kill over land
Charge you for taxes and Blame Uncle Sam

It's a very poignant commentary on the mind-set of many of our youth today and what they believe their reality to be. As a near-senior citizen (I'm 58), I was captivated by the words and their references to contemporary issues that affect a great majority of us, if not ALL of us! I also noticed an uncanny resemblence to Marvin Gaye's singing style (similar to Gaye's hit song "What's Goin' On?") that made me listen to the whole song. I just played it for a young neighbor who is a church-going high school freshman and a "good" kid. Asked him what he thought of the lyrics and how they applied to him. He said he liked the song, but is not caught up in the type of negativity the song portrays. I explained that from my perspective, the song is not necessarily negative, rather it highlights some of the problems that impact us all; just like Marvin's song did when it was published.
