About Queensrÿche
Queensryche is an American progressive metal band formed in Bellevue, Washington in 1981 who helped define the sound of intelligent heavy metal with their operatic vocals and conceptual storytelling. Their breakthrough album "Operation: Mindcrime" (1988) is widely considered one of metal's greatest concept albums, while earlier hits like "Take Hold of the Flame" and "Queen of the Reich" established their soaring, theatrical style. Led initially by Geoff Tate's powerful four-octave range, they bridged the gap between metal's aggression and progressive rock's complexity, influencing countless bands in the process. Though lineup changes and creative shifts have marked their later years, albums like "Condition Hüman" show they continue evolving while maintaining their core identity as thinking person's metal.
