After the long time
An ode to lay sallies a space
I wish I could control
The rate of this noble decay
I fell on the concrete
Trying to run from the pain
And jumped out a window
Trying to harness the winds of change
I try so hard to understand
How I got lost in the dead lands
I'm so far from where I'd planned
Pulled into the ground on which I stand
Frozen in time now
Sitting in fear of the flame
'Cause I know the strongest fire
Will fall victim to rain
But I'll outrun the storm now
And run right into the rifle range
Where I'm chased by a hunter
Who yells that nothing
Will stay the same
