Charlie Puth Joins Moises as Chief Music Officer, Launches AI Remix Contest
Charlie Puth just landed a fascinating new gig that perfectly matches his tech-savvy approach to music making. The pop star has officially joined AI music platform Moises as Chief Music Officer, where he'll help shape tools that could transform how artists create and experiment with sound.
Puth brings serious credibility to this role. He's been quietly using Moises for years, along with many of his industry friends, to isolate vocals and mess around with arrangements. "It opens up possibilities that used to take hours or expensive studio setups," he explained. The platform lets musicians pull apart songs like digital LEGO blocks, studying chord progressions and vocal techniques that were previously locked away in finished recordings. For an artist known for his production wizardry and educational social media content, it's a natural fit.
The timing couldn't be better. To celebrate this partnership, Puth and Moises launched the Moises Jam Session, a remix competition centered around his new track "Best Yourself Up" from the upcoming album Whatever's Clever! (dropping March 27). Musicians get exclusive access to the song's individual stems through the app, basically handing them the keys to Puth's creative process. Winners split $100,000 in prizes and score backstage passes to his Madison Square Garden show on May 29.
This move signals something bigger brewing in music tech. Moises CEO Geraldo Ramos nailed it when he said AI should be "a brush in the artist's hand, not a paint-by-numbers kit." With over 70 million users already tinkering with the platform's AI-powered tools, and backing from engineers who built systems at Spotify and TikTok, Moises is positioning itself as the creative partner every bedroom producer dreams of having.
