BTS Returns With Star-Studded Arirang Album After Military Hiatus
The energy is palpable. After six years away from the studio as a full unit, BTS has assembled one of the most eclectic producer lineups in recent memory for their comeback album Arirang, dropping March 20. The Korean septet tapped everyone from Tame Impala's Kevin Parker to electronic heavyweight Diplo and Australian producer Flume for the 14-track collection.
This isn't just throwing names at a wall. RM appears credited on nearly every song, while Jung Kook contributed to four tracks during what must have been intense creative sessions. The collaboration web extends deep: OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder brings his pop sensibilities, while hip-hop architect Mike WiLL Made-It and experimental rapper JPEGMAFIA add street credibility to an already impressive roster.
The timing couldn't be more charged. Arirang serves as BTS's first group effort since 2020's Be, arriving after the members completed their mandatory South Korean military service. That gap feels like decades in K-pop years, making this reunion album carry extra weight for both the group and their devoted ARMY fanbase.
They're not easing back into things either. An 82-show stadium tour kicks off April 9 in Goyang, spanning 34 regions before wrapping in Manila on March 14, 2027. Netflix will broadcast a live release day concert from Seoul, followed by documentary The Return on March 27. The machine is back in full motion.
