Well it happens every Friday afternoon
I just can't seem to work
I'm sitting at my desk
The sun is shining, and my thoughts are miles away
There's a little two room cabin by a lake
Where the air is fresh with pine
It's so clear in my mind
I think it's time I take a holiday
So I called her
What you doing for the weekend
Pack the bag, and I'll meet you in a little while
I can't wait (I can't wait)
It's a date
We'll fly up to the lake for the weekend
Well I hear the (?) now
So I head home to pack and change
And back out to the plane
'Cause that's the only way for us to get there
By four o'clock, we're up and on our way
I've got my baby close beside me
The city is far behind
On days like this, how I love to fly
Then I kissed her
Glad we're going for the weekend
A 100 miles, so we'll be there just a little while
I can't wait (I can't wait)
Weather's great
We're flying to the lake for the weekend
Evening comes, the air is cool and peaceful
We watch the sun go down
Then stars fill the sky
Think about me, never going back home
Sipping wine, and laying by the fire
I think about my life, how fortunate I am
Someone to love, and the gift of wings
So I asked her
What you doing next weekend
Pack a bag and I'll meet, oh you know where
I can't wait (I can't wait)
It's a date
We'll fly back to the lake for the weekend
Well it happens every Friday afternoon
