About Jane’s Addiction
Jane's Addiction is a Los Angeles rock band formed in 1986 who became pioneers of alternative rock by fusing punk energy, heavy metal riffs, and psychedelic textures with Perry Farrell's theatrical vocals and provocative lyrics. Their breakthrough albums "Nothing's Shocking" (1988) and "Ritual de lo Habitual" (1990) spawned classics like "Jane Says" and "Mountain Song," establishing them as godfathers of the alternative movement that would dominate the '90s. Farrell's creation of Lollapalooza in 1991 revolutionized festival culture and broke alternative music into the mainstream. Though they've cycled through breakups and reunions, their influence on bands from Nirvana to Tool remains immeasurable, cementing their status as one of rock's most important transitional acts.
