About INXS
INXS was an Australian rock band formed in 1977 who became global superstars by fusing new wave, funk, and arena rock with Michael Hutchence's charismatic vocals and magnetic stage presence. Their breakthrough album "Listen Like Thieves" (1985) and masterpiece "Kick" (1987) spawned iconic hits like "Need You Tonight" and "Never Tear Us Apart," establishing them as MTV darlings who bridged the gap between underground cool and mainstream appeal. The band's danceable rock sound and Hutchence's sensual persona made them cultural icons of the late '80s, influencing countless rock acts with their blend of groove-based rhythms and anthemic melodies. After Hutchence's tragic death in 1997, the band continued with various singers but never recaptured their original magic, ending their remarkable 35-year run in 2012.
