Endless years of ignorance cultivated
Snapped, changed, manipulated
Lifestyles planned, directed, mapped
In a lifestyle based on injustice I'm trapped
Not in a scene - this problem's more widespread
Capitalist consumer culture I'm fed
A series of choices I'm given
A false sense of security to live in
The lie is omnipresent and takes many forms
Surrounds each one of us from the time we are born
Taught the lie is convenient, necessary, respectable
And shapes our lives on every level
Soul, minds, ideas absorbed
Patronized, ridiculed, reassured
To pit into a mould, a box
That must remain forever locked
Believing a lie
Not one of these choices are mine
Handed down from an earlier time
Can you trust the offer? Are you willing to try?
Saying yes is like believing a lie
Individuality is an asset
Only within the framework of the lie
Inside, included, involved, invest
Outside, spotlighted, spurned, suppressed
