Once upon a time there was a hunter named Yasaku.
He cooked mice with bear grease as bait for catch foxes

On the mountain lived a very old fox that gave birth to many puppies
The fox hated the hunter who regularly captured her offspring

One day the fox went to Yasaku dressed as a monk

"Killing creatures is a sin, which is a bad way for your next life
Here I have some money for you in exchange for your traps"

They got the bargain, and the fox went away satisfied.
Yasaku could not live without hunting
So he went to the temple asking for mercy

But the fox was there disguised
As Hakuzosu living for further 40 years
