About George Baker Selection

George Baker Selection was a Dutch pop group from Zaanstad active from 1967-1989 who became international stars with their smooth, melodic sound that blended pop, soft rock, and folk influences. Their biggest hit "Una Paloma Blanca" (1975) became a worldwide phenomenon, reaching #1 in multiple countries and establishing them as one of the Netherlands' most successful musical exports. Earlier, their funky instrumental "Little Green Bag" (1969) gained cult status decades later when Quentin Tarantino featured it prominently in "Reservoir Dogs," introducing the band to a new generation. Led by Johannes "George" Bouwens (who adopted the stage name George Baker), the group's polished harmonies and accessible melodies made them pioneers in bringing Dutch pop to global audiences during the 1970s.
