About Aztec Camera
Aztec Camera emerged from East Kilbride, Scotland in 1981 as the brainchild of Roddy Frame, who crafted jangly, sophisticated pop that mixed post-punk energy with jazz-tinged melodies. Their breakthrough single "Oblivious" and the wistful "Somewhere In My Heart" showcased Frame's gift for writing songs that felt both cerebral and deeply romantic, influencing a generation of indie bands. Over nearly two decades, they evolved from scrappy young punks to polished pop craftsmen, but Frame's literate songwriting and that distinctive Scottish charm remained constant throughout albums like High Land, Hard Rain and Love.
