The song was originally written a long time ago. It was for Syn's uncle who had died and "how do i live without the ones i love" was the main piece for the song. Then when the Rev died he remade it for him.

The song, like most of the others on the album, are dedicated to jimmy, but they are all wrote in such a way that they can mean anything to anyone, say, this song could refer to a girl, that's the beauty of it, that's the beauty of avenged sevenfold, this is true music, most bands these days, however good, are in it for money or fame, these are just in it for the pure essence of music. This song can be used to describe anything. To me, it is the song iv dedicated to my mum passing away from years of cancer. It was written about death and how dying was an escape for the person (jimmy in there case) but how it still upsets them they died. It's the saddest song on the album, even sadder than fiction :/

This is an amazing song and one of their best and the rev didn't overdose, he took his sleeping pills with alcohal and the chemicals combined and shut down his heart.

i think syn did a beautiful job writing this song for jimmy. it really shows that they cared about him like a brother and miss him so much. but it also shows that even though they are sad about losing him, they will one day be able to move on and keep him in their hearts foREVer!!
